Situation dire. Please read.

by Mar 15

I know I've tagged beyond the scope of this post, but things are pretty dire. I posted earlier about flooding and blizzard conditions happening right now: Imgur is home to so many animal lovers. How about a signal booster for some of the flooding happening in Nebraska (and elsewhere) that's threatening people and animals alike? It isn't really making the national news, despite the fact that local coverage is really extensive.

It's calving season. Some of these animals are stuck either in blizzards or in the floods. Ranchers are fighting a losing battle to care for their animals.

Some ranchers simply can't get to their animals due to the roads being impassable or fields being flooded.

Whole communities are under water. Red Cross has set up evacuation centers. Over 60,000 people are evacuated from various parts of the state. In case this gets any traction: If you want to donate, check out the Red Cross donation page: If you'd rather just text to donate, text REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief, which helps people affected by disasters such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, wildfires and tornadoes. If you want to see more of what's happening, check out #NebraskaFlooding or #NebraskaStrong on Twitter. It seems this is where people are sharing photos and videos that help tell the story. If you made it this far, thanks for reading.
